Austria’s largest dripstone cave!
Magical stalagmite formations, unique rock formations, underground watercourses and gorges, and a monumental dome.

The Lurgrotte in Semriach is an excursion destination for all ages and can be visited through well-developed paths (since August 2014 it is equipped with new LED-lights). During the guided tour (about 70 minutes), you can experience the magical scenery of the Lurgrotte and visit the highlight of the dripstone cave: the largest free hanging stalactite of the world called “the giant”.

Summer operation (April 15 – October 31): daily from 10 AM to 4 PM for groups of 5 adults or more. Main tour: 11 AM, 2 PM and 3:30 PM

Winter operation (November 1 – April 14): on Saturday, Sunday and public holidays: 11 AM, 2 PM.

With prior reservation, a visit of the cave is possible at all times.

The Kesselfall is a popular hiking destination for the entire family and is accessible by well-developed wooden steps and bridges.

In 1720, the chapel was built above a water spring that is said to have healing powers for eye complaints.

Almost 60 years later, in 1779, the chapel was hit by lightning and the roof was destroyed entirely as a result. In 1811, the chapel was reconstructed and in the years 1965 and 1999 it was renovated thoroughly.

Guided tours through the church are possible after advance notification.

1962 entdecktes römisches Hügelgrab (Höhe 1,5 m). Es ist das einzige „in situ“ (am Ort) restaurierte Hügelgrab Österreichs und liegt am Krienzer-Kogl.
Ein allseits mit Steinplatten verkleideter Zugang (Dromos) führt in ein Gewölbe, in welchem die Aschen-Urnen von Verstorbenen einer Familie beigesetzt wurden.

Im neu errichteten Feuerwehrrüsthaus wurde ein Feuerwehrmuseum eingerichtet.

Zahlreiche Gerätschaften der Freiwilligen Feuerwehr Semriach ab dem Gründungsjahr 1891 werden hier ausgestellt.

Große Kunst auf kleinstem Raum. Die „Kunsthalle K2“, entworfen und ins Leben gerufen vom Semriacher Künstler Christian Eisenberger, wurde am Marktplatz von Semriach errichtet und erwarb sich in Österreichs Kunstszene einen klingenden Namen. In regelmäßigen Abständen gibt es neue Ausstellungen.
